Now a days it's best to have a well written letter of recommendation when applying for a new job.

In today’s economy it takes a lot more than just filling out an application in order to get a job. Especially for those looking to get into a specific line of work, it’s going to take more than just a quick resume. There is more competition these days and more people fighting for that one specific job opening. It’s always helpful to not only have a professional resume on hand, but also at least one professional letter of recommendation, as well.

Example of How to Write a Letter of Recommendation

Employers will often search through many various reference letters, as they try to narrow it down to a few final applicants. For those who want to be one of those few applicants, it’s important to have a professional letter of recommendation, including detailed information reflecting the applicant’s character, work ethic and overall past experience.

It’s best for the applicant to start out by choosing one or more individuals whom have close experience working within their past working environment. Employers want to receive reference letters from individuals who have a clear understanding of the applicant’s work history and overall character.

Writing the Best Letters of Recommendation

The letter of recommendation should give the hiring manager a reason to believe that the applicant is perfect for the new job title. Answering all possible questions, with no room left for doubt. All specific topics which should be covered within reference letters should include:

  • The relationship with the applicant
  • Examples of good character
  • All job experience, emphasizing on experience relating to potential job title
  • Reasons for leaving past job
  • Examples of good work ethic skills
  • Personal reasons as to why the individual is a good candidate for the potential job title

The best letters of recommendation not only state why the applicant is a good match for the new job title, but also gives solid examples, as well. Giving examples of the applicant’s good character, reliability and past experience, makes for the best reference letters. It’s always best to have statements to back up the actual recommendation, as this helps prove the applicant’s capabilities.

In reality, when there are a herd of applicants fighting for one job, it’s extremely beneficial to have at least one well written reference letter to back up the applicant’s work ethic and overall experience. The letter should emphasize on the experience relating to the potential job title.
